How to cook Filipino Style Lasagna
Filipino Style Lasagna is a popular dish in the Philippines that is a variation of the traditional Italian Lasagna. It is typically made with ground beef, tomato sauce, lasagna noodles, cheese, and a white sauce made from milk and all-purpose flour.
What sets our Filipino Style Lasagna Recipe apart from the classic Italian version is the addition of sweet Filipino-style spaghetti sauce, which gives the dish a slightly sweet and savory flavor. Another common addition is ground beef, which is sautéed with onions and garlic. Some recipes also include chopped hotdogs, giving the dish a slightly salty flavor and added texture, adding a unique flavor to the plate.
You can always find Filipino Style Lasagna on special occasions, parties, and family gatherings in the Philippines. It is often served as a main course or a side dish with pandesal or a salad and can be found in local bakeries and restaurants. Overall, Filipino-style lasagna is a delicious and hearty dish that reflects the fusion of Italian and Filipino cuisine.

Tips:
- To keep the foil from clinging to the cheese layer and to raise it, insert a few toothpicks into the assembled pasta.
- For neater slices, let the lasagna rest uncovered for at least 15 minutes.
How to serve and store:
- For a delightful and hearty meal, serve with warm pandesal or garlic bread, your favorite green salad, or roasted vegetables.
- Let leftovers cool completely before storing them for up to 3 days in the fridge or up to 2 months in the freezer in a securely covered container.
- Bake covered in a 350°F oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, to reheat.
Alternately, heat for 1 to 2 minutes in the microwave.

I love lasagna. I've never made it with white sauce. I use a tomato based sauce with ground beef and hot Italian sausage. This sounds good, but too heavy on the garlic for me.
