Trendy Filipino Coffee Recipes
Can you imagine starting your day without a cup of hot coffee? For every Filipino, coffee is the favorite drink and we are just addicted to it! And just a few months ago, we talked about the benefits of coffee for your health.
No wonder we have so many recipes for coffee and even dishes with coffee. Today, we are going to give some new inspirations for delicious recipes. Also, we will teach you everything you need to know about organic, premium quality coffee.
Let’s experiment and find our favorite flavors!
Dalgona coffee
By now, you have probably heard of dalgona coffee. Originating from Korea, it quickly gained popularity here as well. You can’t even scroll through your TikTok or Instagram feed without noticing some of your friends enjoying it. And what is the best - you need only 4 simple ingredients.
- 1 ½ tablespoon of instant organic coffee granules
- 3 tablespoons of white granulated sugar - of course, you can use more or less according to your preferences. You can also use alternative sweeteners if you do not consume white sugar
- ยพ cup of milk. Here as well, you can use the alternatives such as soy milk or almond milk if you are lactose-intolerant
- 3 tablespoons of water (warm or at room temperature)
It would be best to use the small electric coffee mixer. Add coffee, sugar, and hot water to a mixing bowl and mix it until it blends all together and forms a stiff foam. Have your milk ready in a mug (hot or cold, as you wish...you can even add ice if you like it). Make sure you left enough space at the top for the coffee foam! Then, just scoop your mixture from the bowl and put on top of the milk. Stir a bit with straw if you like! Enjoy your coffee!
Coffee flavored donuts
Who said that coffee is for drinking only? In fact, you can make many sweets or even other kinds of food with coffee. In this case, the quality of coffee beans is even more important than for brewed coffee. We always recommend you make sure to use organic coffee beans such as these on Home Grounds or any of these choices on Amazon if your budget is a bit tighter. Not only is organic coffee healthier, but it gives a sweeter, smoother taste to any dessert. And if you know anything from reading this site, it’s that Filipinos love good desserts!
Another thing that we Filipinos love is donuts! We really have a sweet tooth and donuts are often the handiest treat. They are not just available everywhere - they are also easy to make! But have you ever tried making coffee-flavored donuts? If not, now is the time to try!
We are sure you already know how to make donuts, so we will just remind you with this brief photo-guide! What we want to emphasize here is the glaze! So here is what you need:
- ยผ cup of boiling-hot water
- 5 teaspoons of ground organic coffee
- 2 cups of sugar (powdered would be the best)
- ยผ teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
Brew the coffee in the hot water for around 5 minutes. Add vanilla extract. Slowly add the sugar inside, while stirring. Watch out for consistency and stir until it is smooth. Once it is ready, dip the donuts inside, make sure they are covered well, and place them one by one on a wire rack to let the glaze dry.
Coffee chocolate brownies
Even your favorite brownies can be enriched with the coffee aroma! Simple, tasty, and quick to make, you are going to like those brownies! Here is what you need:
- 1 cup of butter (melted)
- 2 cups of sugar
- โ cup of organic coffee
- 4 eggs
- 1 ยฝ cups of flour
- 1 cup of cocoa powder
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter and sugar together, then add the coffee, mix a little bit, and add eggs. Mix it well so it starts to resemble a sticky batter. In the end, add the flour and cocoa powder and continue mixing until it is fully combined. Make sure your pan is lined with parchment paper, then pour the mix inside. Bake them for at least 30 minutes (but not more than 40). Enjoy your brownies! You will see how strong the coffee feels, and you can adjust the recipe for the next time. Perhaps you want a stronger coffee taste, so you can add more than just ⅓ of a cup. Play with the flavors until you discover what you like the most!
The recipes we gave you are of course quite general. We encourage you to experiment and adjust them according to your taste! Maybe you will even add some secret ingredients and make your own recipe!
