Every autumn, the trees start to turn vivid hues of gold, orange, red, and purple and we all start craving those autumn desserts that we look forward to all year. Whether you are 5 or 105, when it starts to get cooler outside, you start to crave apples, pumpkin, and spiced drinks.
In some parts of the country where it does not get cold, we still celebrate the holiday seasons with tasty treats like caramel apples, pumpkin pie, and spiced bread. Comfort foods like casseroles, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese are also important autumn favorites.
5 Delicious Autumn Desserts for the Whole Family
Out of all the yummy autumn desserts out there, you may have a hard time choosing which ones to make for your family’s holiday meal. Some of the favorites include those listed above as well as pecan pie, sweet potato pie, and gingerbread cookies and muffins. And don’t forget the chocolate. It may not be an autumn tradition, but everyone likes chocolate.
Although it was hard to choose just five, we tried to pick a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. There are always some people who do not care for pumpkin (seriously?) or caramel apples (sure), so we are sharing a recipe with pecans, caramel apples, cranberries, and two pumpkin recipes.
Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls
Start off your day with a touch of holiday pie in your breakfast rolls with this amazing pecan pie cinnamon rolls recipe. It only takes about an hour and this dish is filled with Thanksgiving flavors your whole family will love including pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cream cheese icing.
This recipe can be made with homemade rolls or buy some crescent rolls from the grocery store for a shortcut. Also, cut more time by using canned pecan pie filling. And if you are really in a hurry, you can buy some cream cheese frosting too. The only thing you will have to do is put it all together and bake it.
Caramelized Apple Custard Tart
Who needs caramel apples when you can have caramelized apple custard tarts instead? This tart is filled with soft, juicy apples caramelized in brown sugar and mixed with vanilla custard for a rich and creamy dessert. We added raisins and poppy seeds too, but you don’t have to.
Skip some of the work by buying a premade crust. Then, all you have to do is caramelize the apples, make the custard, put it in the crust, and bake it. In less than 45 minutes you will have a delicious tart that will make everyone forget all about those caramel apples.
For cranberry lovers who have been waiting all year to eat some sweet and tart cranberry dishes, this cranberry bread can really be made any time of the year. But autumn is when the fresh cranberries are ripe and ready to use. This bread is bursting with tangy berries and makes a great snack or breakfast meal on the go.
One trick to making sure all the berries don’t end up at the bottom is to coat them in a bit of flour. Then you just have to mix the berries with flour, orange zest and juice, melted butter, and pecans. In less than an hour, you have warm, soft bread to enjoy.
5 Ingredient 5 Minute Pumpkin Fudge
You cannot go wrong with this easy peasy pumpkin fudge recipe. It only needs five ingredients and takes five minutes to prepare so anyone can do it! All you need is white chocolate, condensed milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and walnuts.
Actually, the walnuts are optional so it could just be four ingredients. But you can also use a few drops of orange food coloring and some sprinkles to make it more festive. Melt the chocolate, mix everything, and pour them into lined muffin tins. After they cool for about 15 to 30 minutes in the fridge, they are ready to serve.
Pumpkin Poke Cake
Poke cakes have become very popular in the last few years, and you will know why once you make one. They are extremely easy to make, and they taste incredible. For this pumpkin poke cake, the pumpkin cake is infused with decadent white chocolate and topped with cream cheese frosting, pecans, and warm caramel.
You can make this easy recipe even simpler by using a white or yellow cake mix from a box. For the white chocolate syrup, you just melt white chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk. And the cream cheese frosting is fast and easy with just cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla. The caramel sauce you can buy in a jar or make yourself. And then just top it all with crunchy pecan halves.
