6 Grilling Recipes you need to try this summer
Summer is the perfect time to fire up the grill and try out some delicious recipes! Whether you want something quick and easy, or something a little more complex, there is a variety of options to choose from when it comes to grilling food. Of course, outside grilling is not only about the food itself – but it’s also a great opportunity to socialize with friends and family.
So, if you’re planning on hosting an event in your own backyard, this would be a great opportunity to make some foods that everyone will love. In this blog post, we will share six of our favorite grilling recipes with you, so that you can have a variety of options to choose from the next time you fire up the grill.
From burgers and hot dogs to steak and shrimp, there is something for everyone! So get your barbecue ready and start cooking!
1. Grilled Burgers
- Ground beef (80/20 mix)
- Egg
- Bread crumbs
- Onion, diced
- Garlic, minced
- Salt & pepper
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper together. Form into patties and grill over medium-high heat for about five minutes per side, or until cooked through. Next, use a toasted bun with your favorite toppings on it as a place to serve the burgers. Grilled burgers are a standard and they are delicious! If you want to try something a little different, try adding some shredded cheese or BBQ sauce to the mix.
2. Grilled Hot Dogs
- Hot dogs
- Buns
- Condiments of your choice
Grill the hot dogs over medium-high heat for about five minutes, or until cooked through. Toast a bun and place your favorite condiments on it before serving. Hot dogs are always a crowd favorite and they’re so easy to make! Furthermore, don't forget to have different condiments available so that everyone can customize their hot dog to their liking. One of the biggest advantages of hot dogs is that they are very affordable, so this is a great option if you’re on a budget.
3. BBQ Pork Chops
- Pork chops
- Barbecue sauce
- Salt & pepper
Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Grill over medium-high heat for about five minutes per side, or until cooked through. As the last few minutes of grilling approach, use a brush to spread barbecue sauce all over the pork chops. These pork chops are full of flavor and sure to be a hit at your next backyard gathering! Pork chops offer a great alternative to the typical hamburger or hot dog. In addition, they are just as easy to cook on the grill.
4. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
- Bread
- Butter
- Cheese
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Place two slices of bread in the skillet and top with cheese. Top with another slice of bread and grill for about three minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. These grilled cheese sandwiches are simple but oh-so-satisfying. Grilled-cheese sandwiches are the perfect comfort food and they’re always a hit with kids! Furthermore, they are easy to make and only require a few ingredients.
5. Steak Diane
- Filet mignon
- Olive oil
- Dijon mustard
- Worchester sauce
- Lemon juice
- Salt & pepper
In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Dijon mustard, Worchester sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Rub the steak with the mixture and grill over medium-high heat for about five minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking. This steak is full of flavor and sure to impress your guests!
6. Shrimp Scampi
- Shrimp
- Butter
- Garlic, minced
- White wine
- Lemon juice
- Salt & pepper
- Parsley, chopped
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add the garlic and shrimp and cook for about two minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque. Add the white wine, lemon juice, salt, and pepper and cook for another minute. Garnish with parsley and serve. This shrimp scampi is light and flavorful – perfect for a summertime meal!
