Kitchen Gadgets Every Mom Should Have
The kitchen can be a scary place when you don’t know what you’re doing. There are so many gadgets and utensils that we just do not need to get the job done. If you’re looking for four things that every mom should have in their kitchen, then here are some suggestions.
1. Stand mixer
A stand mixer has many uses and can make life in the kitchen a lot easier. This appliance will save your wrists and arms from cramping while you knead the dough for homemade bread or pizza. You can also use the stand mixer to mix batters, whip eggs whites into stiff peaks, and even churn ice cream!
There are many brands on the market that offer their own unique features, so do some research before buying.
2. Crock-Pot or Slow Cooker
Slow cookers/Crockpots are great because all of your food cooks slowly, so it’s tender and juicy by the time it’s ready to eat. With this appliance, you just need to put your ingredients in, turn it on, and have dinner ready when you get home from work. You can even set the cooking time ahead of time so that all you have to do is flip the switch when you leave in the morning!
The crockpot/slow cooker is also great for making soups, stews, chili, dips, spaghetti sauce…pretty much anything that’s made with a lot of liquid works well. The best part about these appliances is their low cost. It doesn’t require any extra power or special equipment to use, which makes it perfect if your kitchen is small or if you live in an apartment.
3. Garlic Press
A garlic press is one of people’s favorite kitchen gadgets, not just for the obvious use, but mostly because it makes cooking so much easier. With a garlic press, you get all the flavor without any of the hassles of mincing your garlic by hand.
If cutting onions brings tears to your eyes, then this gadget will be your new best friend! While they can cost more, most garlic presses are worth their price tag because they’ll save you time and effort in the long run. This is another great tool if you live in an apartment or have minimal counter space.
4. Good Knives
Dull knives are more dangerous to use because you have to use extra force to cut ingredients, and you’re more likely to slip and hurt yourself.
Good knives will also make your food look nicer, and they’ll be able to handle any task that comes their way. There’s no trick for picking out the right knife set; it really is just a matter of personal preference.
Why should every mom have useful appliances?
Having a stand mixer, crock pot/slow cooker, garlic press and sharp knives in the kitchen will make life so much easier. These four tools are essential to any mom who loves to cook or bake from scratch. Picking out each one isn’t too difficult, but it can be overwhelming if you have no idea what to look for.
The kitchen can be a scary place when you don’t know what you’re doing. There are so many gadgets and utensils that we just do not need to get the job done, but having a few basic ones will be extremely helpful when you need to cook all day.
