Instructions
~ How to Prepare & Cook ~
Pour 2 tbsp Oil in a Casserole, then Heat Oil.
Add 1 med. White Onion, then Saute onion until softened.
Add minced Garlic, Saute until light brown.
Add Chicken and continue to saute until it renders some fat & a little broth.
Add ginger then saute until fragrant.
Add 1/2 tsp. of Salt & Black Pepper
Season with salt & pepper.
Continue to saute until chicken turns lightly brown.
Pour 1 Liter of Water
Cover & simmer chicken for 20mins. on medium low heat.
Remove any scum that floats on top.
Soak 2tbsp. atsuete seeds in water or hot broth for about 5mins.
Add 1 Chicken Knorr Cube and Carrot strips
Simmer carrots for 2 minutes.
Add 1 cup Cabbage then Simmer for another 2 minutes.
Add 3.2oz of Vermicelli glass noodles (dry or soak in water).
Pour in soaked atsuete seeds through a strainer.
Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Next, add chopped scallions, (white part)
Taste and adjust seasoning and salt according to your preference.
Our Chicken Sotanghon is done!
~ To Serve ~
Serve immediately while it's piping hot.
Top with hard boiled egg, scallions & fried garlic.
