Pork Estofado Recipe (Stewed Pork)

Pork Estofado Recipe, Most Filipinos considered Estofado a menu of choice during important gatherings.

Serves 6
Preparation time: 5-10 mins
Cooking time: 45 mins

Pork Estofado Ingredients:

  • Pinoy Estofado ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 head garlic, cloves crushed
  • 1 kg boneless pork shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 carrot, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • ½ cup Silverswan soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup corn oil
  • 2 pieces French bread, cut into 1-inch squares and fried in oil

  • 250 g chicken breast or fillet, sliced

Filipino Mongo Guisado Recipe (Stewed Mung Beans)

The simple and unassuming “mongo guisado” is a favorite Filipino household dish due to its richness in nutrients and inexpensive ingredients. This favorite Filipino dish is given a make-over with a lot of nutritious spinach leaves (the kids love this) and garnished with a lot of crispy, crackling “chicharon” bits.

Mongo Guisado Ingredients:

  • Mongo Guisado 4 cups water
  • 1 1/4 cups green mongo (mung) beans
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced pork
  • 1 cup small prawns, peeled, heads discarded
