One of the most ancient vegetables, the lowly cabbage has a lot of interesting history and lore backing it up. It’s also packed with vitamins, making it one of the most nutritious vegetables. With a little imagination, you can make cabbage rise above such common dishes.

Cooking time: 15-20 mins

Guisadong Repolyo Ingredients:

  • Pinoy Guisadong Repolyo1/4 cup oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Cloves of 1/2 head of garlic, crushed
  • 125 g diced pork
  • 250 g chicken liver, sliced
  • 250 g chicken breast or fillet, sliced

  • 250 g white cabbage, cut into 2 1/2 inch squares
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 chicken stock cubes
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Guisadong Repolyo Cooking Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a wok or casserole. Sauté onion until transparent, 1 to 2 minutes. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Brown diced pork. Add chicken liver and chicken breast and sauté until almost cooked.

  • Stir in cabbage. Pour in water and add the stock cubes.

  • Let simmer over medium heat until cabbage is crisp-tender, about 3 minutes.

  • Season with soy sauce.
